Pedal pals to raise cash for hospice

-

● TEN cyclists from Widnes and Runcorn as well as Liverpool are to ride 250 miles to raise cash for Halton Haven.

The group has previously completed other cycling feats in aid of Willowbrook hospice and Alder Hey Children’s Hospital.

Their upcoming route will take place in North Wales, starting tomorrow on June 15 and heading to Llandudno and Anglesey before returning to Chester where they will catch their breath and a train back to Liverpool.

They are also to raffle off a hamper and raise cash with collection tubs in a neighbourhood shop.

The ride is dedicated to one of the riders’ mothers who has passed away.

Tony Walker, participat- ing cyclist, said: “Through our riding we can give something back to a cause both myself and my family hold dear after we lost our mum five years ago.

“She was cared for by Halton Haven’s wonderful team.”

Faye O’Neill, Halton Haven Hospice fundraiser, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Tony and the rest of the cycle group for choosing to support Halton Haven through their annual ride this year. We are blown away by the effort the group has put into raising vital funds for the hospice.

“It’s an inspiring challenge and we wish them the very best for a safe and enjoyable trip.”
