POEM – FACING REALITY

- William George Scriven Widnes

ALL the new things of the future, All the known facts of the past Bring all earth’s nations together To stop us from moving too fast. Well that is the way we would like it But greed always gets in the way The rich and the powerful get richer, The poor just survive for today. The old they are left on the scrapheap The sick, they cry out in despair, The young they see life as a mystery And wonder if people still care. Our life on this planet’s a struggle, There are times when we just can’t go on

We hope but then tragedy happens Until all good memories are gone. So, how can we plan for tomorrow, Our life truly hangs on a thread; One moment there’s breath in our nostrils,

The next we’re forgotten and dead. But let us not dwell on these happenings

We still must live life to the full, From life after death we’re protected The last thing we should be is dull. So try and break the darkness with brilliance

Just look at God’s beauty and smile Be happy and love one anotherThis truly makes living worthwhile. AUCTIONEERS:
