-

HFH U9 24 Woolston Rovers U9 16 IN a very competitive game, Halton Farnworth Hornets U9 put in their best team performance of the season to see off a strong Woolston Rovers outfit by a final scoreline of 24-16.

In attack there was some brilliant link-up play from Joe Bebbington and James Prescott to set up tries for Kian Fahey, Cian Winstanley, Matthew Brown and a brace for Joe Heany with Prescott grabbing one for himself.

In defence, every player stepped up to the plate to hold back a strong running Woolston team and in three full sets Woolston did not gain a single yard in attack.

Topping the tackle count was Ellis Lloyd who was awarded the man-of-the-match accolade but he was pushed all the way for the award by teammates Kobe MacKinnon, Joe Heany and Matthew Sinclair.

This was a brilliant all-round team effort in which every player should be extremely proud of themselves. HFH U10 Reds 28 Leigh East U10 28 THERE was superb rugby league on show with two very determined teams.

Hornets led at the break with a couple of tries from man-of-thematch Jacob Fitzsimon, whilst Ben Sibson also crossed over to finish off a good move.

The second half was a lot closer and Leigh East got the score level with some good attacking play.

Unfortunately, Hornets could not hold on to their lead and Leigh East hit back draw the game at the end.
