Vegetarian awareness

Runcorn & Widnes Weekly News - - Yourviews - Katie Butler Vegetarian For Life

VEGANS come in all ages, abilities, genders, skin colours and much more. And every one of them has a right to be vegan and be included in the movement.

Our charity, Vegetarian For Life, specifically helps to support older vegetarians and vegans who sometimes can feel left out of the movement.

We campaign to ensure that older vegans have what they need, whether living independently or in care settings, so they are able to live as ethically as they choose to.

We wanted to address these issues so we held a Visibility Day.

This took place on October 1, when we shared pictures and stories of inspirational older vegans with the wider community.

The aim is to alert the broader vegan community to the need to make our movement more inclusive of older people.

Let’s remind everyone that these issues must be addressed, and we’ll keep making the voices and faces of older vegans visible until they are.

Please send VFL a photo of yourself, if you feel that you fit the bill.

Or perhaps you have an inspiring older loved one or colleague?
