Runcorn Men’s II 6 Bebington Men’s III 0 RUNCORN Hockey Club men’s second-team earned the spoils with an excellent 6-0 triumph over the third string from Bebington last Saturday.
Enjoying home advantage, there was plenty of support for Runcorn from enthusiastic followers at pitchside at The Heath School.
There were plenty of goalscoring chances in the opening period.
However, none were taken and the half ended goalless.
Taking the initiative at the start of the second half, Runcorn rapidly went ahead.

Capitalising on a somewhat despondent opposition, Runcorn cruised the rest of the way and bagged three more goals to seal a 6-0 win.
All six goals were netted in open play highlighting the effectiveness of the seconds.
The victory also demonstrates how a relatively new group of players has gelled so quickly.
Man-of-the-match was Robert Mault who was an integral part of Saturday’s win.
There were also some notable performances from Steve Currie, Riley Cooper and David Yardley.
The win saw the seconds maintain their 100% record and enabled them to move to top of the North West Hockey League’s Division Seven South West just three matches in.
Prior to this win, the seconds had defeated Deeside Ramblers’ VI team 3-1 and edged Neston’s VI string 2-1.
Elsewhere, the first-team shared a 1-1 draw with Alderley Edge’s IV string in Division Four South.
And Runcorn’s thirds were 2-1 winners over Whitchurch II in Division Eight South West.
That is three victories in a row for the thirds following a 3-1 win over Neston’s VIII and a 4-3 success against Oxton V.
