ON Monday night in the Widnes & District Darts League, the Widnes Bowling Club 501 League continued with round four being played.

Hammer & Pincers at home to the Goldmine endured another tough evening on the oche.

They conceded eight games in succession to the visitors with the rout starting in the singles with wins for Karl Windisch (19 and 16 darts and 180), Jack Dunn and Lee Hayes.

This was followed by pairs Mike Callaghan & Shane Littler, Sean Bell & Barry Noonan and James Holden & Karl Windisch.

A further two wins in the singles from Adam Mullally and Mike Callaghan (18 darts) completed the eight.

The Hammer finally put themselves onto the scoresheet in the final game through Alan Jones, but it was merely a consolation.

After conceding the first two games to visitors the Ball, Mill Brow SC levelled with two in a row, including a 113 checkout from Paul Linger.

The Ball then rallied, taking three in a row via Martin Ball & Ste Whitfield, Karl Whitfield (15 darts and 180) and John Barber to confirm their victory in the match.

Darren Attwood then took the penultimate game for the Brow, whilst Lol Fonterigo secured the final game wrapping up a 6-3 success for the Ball.

The Millfield at home to Simms Cross Institute had an awful start as they lost the first six games confirming their defeat.

It all began in the singles through Paul Batty, Tony Green (143 checkout and Andy Abbott (17 darts), followed by pairs, Andy Abbott & Barry Lightfoot, Brian Dutton & Paul Batty and Ray Dutton & Mick Cullen.

The Millfield were in a no-win position, but they did not let the Stute have it quite all their own way as Keith Horabin and Billy Fox (103 checkout) took the next two games. The Stute’s Brian Dutton took the final game sealing a comfortable 7-2 triumph.

Widnes Bowling Club at home to Halton Stadium conceded the first three games to the visitors’ Eddie Dootson, Tony Jackson and Neil Ward.

The Bowler then recovered a point through their opening pair, Joe Batty & Mark Delooze (180).

However, that was as good as it got for the Bowler as the Stadium surged forward, taking the remaining five games through John Bowles & Tony Jackson, Eddie Dootson & Kevin Garcia, Kevin Garcia (140 finish), John Bowles and Colin Rigby.
