Blank day for ladies’ first-team
Warrington Ladies I 3
Runcorn Ladies I 0 AFTER making an undefeated start to their 2018-19 campaign from their opening four games, Runcorn Hockey Club Ladies’ first-team were brought back down to earth with a bump last Saturday.
Jo Fisher’s outfit went down to a 3-0 loss to their counterparts from Warrington at Priestley College.
Runcorn had already notched up 30 goals from those first four matches which ended in two wins and two draws.
So naturally confidence was high going into this game and Runcorn dominated possession in the early stages.
However, they were unable to take any of the chances they created and Warrington took the lead just before half-time.
The second half saw Warrington increase their lead to 3-0 and Runcorn were unable to turn the deficit around falling to their first defeat of the season.
Player of the match went to Lauren Bradshaw for her tireless running in midfield.
The firsts will hope to return to their previous good form when they play host to Neston Ladies II at The Heath School on Saturday. The match starts at 12pm.
