Woman suffers serious injuries in bridge fall

AWOMAN suffered serious but not life- threatenin­g injuries after falling from a bridge in Runcorn.

Police were called to Hallwood Link Road near the Shell garage last Thursday, October 11.

The woman had suffered injuries associated with a fall from height.

She was taken to Aintree Hospital in a serious condition.

A North West Ambulance Service spokeswoma­n said an ambulance was called to the scene at 4.37pm.

She said the casualty, who is about 50 years old, had suffered ‘major trauma injuries’.

Highway closures were in place while emergency services attended.

A Cheshire police spokesman said: “At 4.36pm yesterday, police were called to reports that someone had fallen from ● a bridge on Hallwood Link Road, Runcorn. The woman sustained serious, but not life-threatenin­g injuries and is currently being treated in hospital.”

The NWAS spokeswoma­n said: “We were called at 4.37pm and we have taken a patient to Aintree University Hospital with major trauma injuries. She was approxi- mately 50 years old.”

Bullying UK is a website for both children and adults affected by bullying.
