The nomination comes after her decades working in the care sector, and developing approaches that promote clean, safe and welcoming care home environments.

Barbara formed Delivered Health Solutions in 2012, growing it to become a nationally respected brand within the care sector.

The organisation provides services to more than 4,000 care homes nationally.

She said that by providing specialist cleaning services, offering expert training sessions and bringing cuttingedge technologies to the UK market, including innovative air purification systems, the company is helping to raise the standard of environments in care services across Britain.

Also shortlisted at the event is Anthony Warburton, of Runcorn, who works as a specialist deep cleaning technician at for the firm.

The Great British Care Awards North West take place at the Mercure Hotel Manchester on Saturday, November 24.

Barbara said: “I am proud that my personal commitment to promoting dignity in care has been recognised and to see the hard work of our front line team celebrated with Anthony’s nomination.”

Anthony said: “It was a real shock to find out that I had been nominated for such a prestigious honour.

“I love being part of a company that makes a difference every day and to have the chance to help care homes across the region.

“To know that my work is not only valued by my own colleagues and the staff at the services we work with, but also respected by lead figures in the national care sector too is something I feel very proud about.” ● Barbara Meeks
