Linnets’ charity relay help
RUNCORN Linnets had some unfamiliar but very welcome visitors when the Big Learner Relay for BBC Children In Need (CIN) stopped off at the Millbank Linnets Stadium.
The team are conducting a two-week, 3,000-mile nationwide relay consisting of driving lessons by qualified instructors, raising charity cash for the appeal, and used the club car park as a handover point.
A fleet of around 15 cars made the stadium pitstop on the first day of their marathon, which will culminate in a circuit of Silverstone racetrack during the main Children In Need day on Friday, November 16.
Runcorn Linnets held a collection at Saturday’s 1-0 victory over Leek Town in support of the Big Learner Relay.
A club spokesman said: “We were very pleased to offer the relay team use of our facilities as they embark on their long journey and wish them the all the very best with their fundraising.”
