Lin­nets’ char­ity re­lay help

RUN­CORN Lin­nets had some un­fa­mil­iar but very wel­come vis­i­tors when the Big Learner Re­lay for BBC Chil­dren In Need (CIN) stopped off at the Mill­bank Lin­nets Sta­dium.

The team are con­duct­ing a two-week, 3,000-mile na­tion­wide re­lay con­sist­ing of driv­ing lessons by qual­i­fied in­struc­tors, rais­ing char­ity cash for the ap­peal, and used the club car park as a han­dover point.

A fleet of around 15 cars made the sta­dium pit­stop on the first day of their marathon, which will cul­mi­nate in a cir­cuit of Sil­ver­stone race­track dur­ing the main Chil­dren In Need day on Fri­day, Novem­ber 16.

Run­corn Lin­nets held a col­lec­tion at Satur­day’s 1-0 vic­tory over Leek Town in sup­port of the Big Learner Re­lay.

A club spokesman said: “We were very pleased to of­fer the re­lay team use of our fa­cil­i­ties as they em­bark on their long jour­ney and wish them the all the very best with their fundrais­ing.”
