NOTCUTTS Rivendell Garden Centre in Widnes has plenty of festive activities in store for the run up to Christmas.

On Sunday, November 18, children and families gathered to welcome an arrival from Santa, where he officially opened the garden centre’s Christmas grotto and kickstarted the festive fun.

David Quigley, centre manager at Notcutts Rivendell, said: “Thank you to everyone who celebrated Santa’s grand arrival with us on Sunday, it was a fantastic day and it was great to see so many local families join in the fun. Santa’s arrival marked the start of our festive activities at Notcutts, and we’re excited that the countdown for Christmas has truly begun!”

Santa’s magical grotto, decorated as an enchanted winter wonderland, is open in the garden centre for children to meet Santa and receive a gift. Furry friends are also welcomed to join the fun at the Santa Paws pet grotto.

Whitfield Light Railway has also returned to the garden centre, with opportunities to ride their miniature steam train from now until Christmas Eve.
