Environmental tech firm strikes new deal
ADARESBURY environmental engineering firm has announced a sales agent deal with Turkeybased KNK Kimya.
Operational Group, which is headquartered at Sci-Tech Daresbury, specialises in industrial energy reduction, reuse and air pollution control for manufacturers plus servicing and technical support.
It works in the print and packaging, food and drink, textiles, ceramics, paint, automotive and utilities sectors.
KNK Kimya has similar services with specialisms in the print and flexible packaging sectors.
An Operational Group spokesman said KNK Kimya was founded in 2013 by Serkan Konak, and has developed quickly into an internationallyrecognised, respected and dynamic business.
He said the deal will give it a presence in an exciting region, represented by a ‘trusted partner with an exceptional local reputation’ in Turkey.
Mr Konak said: “KNK Kimya has long been dedicated to providing exceptional products and expertise to our flexible packaging customers.
“The experience of the team at KNK Kimya is the principal reason for our business success so far and we are very excited by the prospect of growing our business via collaboration with Operational Group.
“The Turkish flexible packaging print sector is growing and changing.
“Flexible packaging print investors are focusing on costsavings instead of new printing machine investment.
“In combining the strengths of KNK Kimya and Operational, we can offer our customers cutting-edge innovations in both dryer optimisation and energy savings, and customer-focused support with cost savings.”
Hans Van Collenburg, Operational Benelux BV & Deutschland GmbH managing director, said: “As a result of its ● growth and successes with a variety of global partners, KNK Kimya is the obvious choice to partner with Operational Group in the Turkish market.
“KNK Kimya has developed a variety of specialities including flexo and rotogravure liquid inks, energy-saving on flexible packaging converters, colour-matching, dryer and process optimisation, solvent reduction, corrugated and flexible packaging.
“These specialisms are the ideal complement to Operational Group and both parties are delighted with the agreement.”
He added: “Operational and KNK Kimya strengthen each other in a perfect manner. “KNK Kimya’s extensive and local presence will strengthen and expand Operational’s position in a large and rapidlygrowing market.
“As a result, Operational is represented in all the flexible packaging markets.
“We are pleased to be serving Turkish flexible packaging producers with our services in dryer optimisation, energy savings and air pollution control systems.”
Operational Group employs more than 40 staff across its UK and European based companies.
It was founded in the UK by Ron Constantine.
