Exciting encounter promised

-

AFTER registering their 10th straight victory in all competitions, Widnes go for number 11 this Saturday with home advantage.

The Red-and-Blacks are set to entertain Heaton Moor at Heath Road.

After a plethora of trips on the road, it will be Widnes’s first home fixture for more than a month – and what a game it promises to be.

Moor defeated Andy McIntosh’s charges back in September, when the visitors somehow managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory following a great second half fightback.

Moor have made a promising start to life in the ADM Premier League and currently lie in seventh place in what is a heavily congested middle group in the table. They are a notoriously difficult team to beat, and their four losses so far have included two agonising one-point defeats at the hands of Liverpool St Helens and West Park.

Widnes, though, are a different team now to the one who visited Green Lane back in round two, and 10 successive wins will see them going into the game full of confidence as they approach the half-term break. The game kicks-off at 2.15pm.

Meantime, the second XV will aim to return to winning ways when they go to their counterparts from Liverpool St Helens.

That match also has a 2.15pm kick-off time.

Widnes’s thirds entertain Liverpool St Helens’ third XV, again with a 2.15pm kick-off.
