Kids support homes charity with donation
THE Whitechapel Centre in Liverpool has benefited this Christmas from the kindness and generosity of Widnes residents, as well as students, parents and carers from Wade Deacon High School.
In the build-up to Christmas, funds have been raised via a school and community based raffle which has helped the housing and homelessness charity to secure vital additional funds.
Desperately needed resources and essential supplies have also been donated by Wade Deacon parents and carers which will make such a difference to the lives of so many.
The school has been working closely with the charity and their representatives, Mark and Kimberley Forshaw.
Mark, a former student at the Birchfield Road school, spent a week at Wade Deacon, delivering assemblies and speaking with students in order to raise awareness of this important issue.
The theme also provided the thread that ran through the school’s Christmas concert ‘A Million Dreams.’
Mark Forshaw told The Weekly News: “This has been a wonderful experience and I cannot thank the people of Widnes and everyone at Wade Deacon High School enough.
“We have been overwhelmed by people’s generosity and kindness which we know will make such a difference.”
The campaign to support The Whitechapel Centre forms part of Wade Deacon’s extensive charity and community support programme led by students with Save the Children, Cancer Research UK, Ronald McDonald House, The Prince’s Trust, The Rainbow Trust, Willowbrook Hospice, Water Aid, Merseyside Dogs’ Home, Young Minds and Together For Short Lives which are all benefiting significantly from the generosity of students and their families. ●
