AT last Friday evening’s Annual General Meeting of Runcorn Linnets, it was announced that with seven valid nomination­s having been received for six trust board vacancies in the 2018 rotation and one of these having subsequent­ly been withdrawn, the following have been elected to serve for two years: Mike Bignall, Josh Christian, Hedley Edwards, Daz Law, Steve Pritchard and Jon Urquhart. ●

It was also confirmed that John Pickering, having resigned from the board, did not seek re-election while co-opted board member James Charlton had also resigned. Thanks were extended to John and James for their work.

Chairman Mike Bignall announced that former long-serving board member Mark Buckley, club chairman in the 2017-18 title-winning season, has been appointed a vicepresid­ent of Runcorn Linnets. Mark will also take on a new role of assistant trust secretary.

Meanwhile, Runcorn Linnets manager Michael Ellison is thrilled to have further strengthen­ed his backroom team with the acquisitio­n of a goalkeeper coach.

Johnny Moorhouse joins Linnets from Hallmark Security League Premier Division club Squires Gate.

He is an FA licensed coach and FA licensed talent ID scout.

The Evo-Stik League has also approved the switch of the Division One West home fixture against Skelmersda­le United to this Saturday – December 29 – following agreement between the two clubs.

It will be a 3pm kick-off at the Millbank Linnets Stadium.

The game was originally scheduled for New Year’s Day.
