Historical tale published as e-book after 20 years

-

ABOOK produced under hypnosis amid a series of mysterious coincidences that sparked speculation its Runcorn author might have been reincarnated has been republished.

Elizabeth Fytton Of Gawsworth Hall has been out of print for 20 years but is available once again, now in digital e-book format and in a short limited print run, and tells the story of a maid who served Henry VIII’s second and sixth wives, Anne Boleyn and Katherine Parr.

Its author Liz Howard – maiden name Fitton and who is owner of The Curiosity Bookshop – said the book is based on her own experience of hypnotic regression and the similarities with the subject of her book do not end with their similar surnames.

The Tudor-era maid and 21st century writer also have the same or similar brother, sister and father’s names too.

Despite Liz’s scepticism about reincarnation, she acknowledged there were eerie similarities between her and her subject.

She said: “Some have connected the events of the hypnotic regression to reincarnation.

“I don’t believe that because her name was Elizabeth Fytton and my maiden name was Elizabeth Fitton.

“Her father was John Fytton and mine was John Fitton.

“Her brother was Edward – so is mine.

“And one of her sisters was Ellen – one of my sisters is Helen!”

Elizabeth Fytton Of Gawsworth Hall is available from The Curiosity Bookshop.

In 1994 the BBC made the story part of a programme introduced by Sue Cook, which can be viewed on YouTube by searching for ‘Out Of This World BBC 1994 part 1’.

When the the book was first released it was split into two volumes by the original publisher, Robert Hale in London, but has now been recombined into a single tome as was originally intended.
