Boss Herbert – Clubs are wild about Harry

-

● MANAGER Chris Herbert has confirmed several sides are interested in Runcorn Town player Harry Brazel.

The midfielder, who has been named the Macron Player of the Month for December in the Hallmark Security League, scored twice during a busy period, despite Town’s poor recent form.

“Harry is better than this level and anybody who watches him knows that,” Herbert said.

“What he does is enjoys playing for us and the way we play. We play the way that suits these match-winners like Craig Cairns the season before and there’s a lot of interest in him from Welsh football to the leagues above ours.

“Harry will go further. He’s just got to be a little bit patient and not rush into things because he did it at Stockport [County] where he sat around a little bit on the bench and never quite got a chance and he ended up with us.

“He’s got to do it the right way and if we can help him we’ll help him. I’m here to help lads kick-on and progress and if I can do that with Harry then that’s great.”

Herbert also confirmed the signing of former Marine and Witton Albion striker Shaun Tuck as he looks to bolster his forward line.

Town lost last season’s top scorer Cairns to City of Liverpool in the summer before new signings Steve Lewis and Ryan Cox also departed after short spells at the Viridor Community Stadium. After losing eight of their last 13 matches, however, Herbert has admitted goals are a necessity as they look to move back up the Premier Division table.

“We’re just waiting on international clearance for Shaun. I’m hopeful he’s available for the weekend,” the manager added.

“We’ve been massively lacking a goalscorer – results prove that. If things aren’t going in the other end the defence is taking a lot of pressure on them. We need to take that pressure off by scoring goals and defending from the front and we’re not doing that right at the moment.”

Town, who lost 2-0 at home to Bootle last Saturday, are on their travels this Saturday when they take on Litherland REMYCA at Litherland Sports Park in the Hallmark Security League Premier Division. The game kicks-off at 3pm.

Next Tuesday night – January 15 – Runcorn go to Macclesfield Town for a Cheshire Senior Cup first round tie. The match at Moss Rose has a 7.45pm kick-off time.
