Headliners for Rec’d revealed

ATALENT- PACKED bill will be laying on the summer grooves for this year’s annual REC’D music festival in Widnes.

Kicking off with a family fun day in the afternoon, event-goers will be able to enjoy a fun fair, bouncy castles, face painting, Star Wars characters, a barbecue, outdoor bar, pizza oven, ice cream, cake stall and other attraction­s, in the ground of The Hammer And Pincers pub in Hough Green.

Live music will be courtesy of Halton favourites Greg Oldfield, Gareth Heesom, Sarah Whitfield, Junior Dayvis and Ste Steadman.

At 6pm, the event moves indoors for the traditiona­l annual REC’D music festival, this year featuring The Riders, The Chimps and Kessler, as well as Widnes legends Zen Baseballba­t who will be headlining the event.

Organisers said the non-profit event will be donating all proceeds to be divided between The Heswall Disabled Children’s Holiday Fund and Halton Haven.

Entry to the family fun day is £2 per adult, £1 a child, with free pub entry once the evening’s concert begins.

● punters to consider donating to top up the funds for the two chosen charities.

Si Owens, co-organiser, said: “We can genuinely say that this year’s event will be the biggest and the best that we’ve ever hosted.

“The whole venue is going to be packed out with attraction­s for all the family, to the soundtrack of some of the borough’s finest musical talent.

“We’re delighted to be providing entertainm­ent on this scale to the people of Halton and we are excited about the potential to raise significan­t funds and awareness for our nominated charities.”

REC’D 2019 is on from noon to 11pm on Saturday, July 6.
