FOX HUNTING BAN CALL
MY comments are in response to the article concerning fox hunting in Cheshire.
Everyone is aware that the fox hunts and the hare hunt are NOT following an artificially laid scent.
The drag hunts are the exception, they always follow a laid trail and never kill or chase foxes.
In Cheshire, evidence has been presented to the CPS that shows the huntsman blowing his horn with the notes that are used to encourage hounds on to a fox.
This is immediately followed by his encouraging voice calls to the hounds and next the huntsman is seen standing right next to a fox being killed by his hounds.
The CPS do not consider this as enough ‘intent’ to kill the fox. It is considered as an ‘accident’.
This is how the hunts are getting away with killing foxes.
The way forward now is to get the 2004 Hunting Act strengthened so that this time there is a total ban on chasing and killing our wildlife with hounds.
In the meantime I have no doubt that the opposition to hunting with hounds, in Cheshire, will continue to grow.
There will probably be a General Election soon when there will be the opportunity to vote for a political party that will deliver a total ban on hunting. prosecuted. These are the consequences of cutting the number of police by 23,000 as part of the austerity measures and the diversion of money from law and order to fund the cut in the top rate of tax.
But it isn’t just crime that shows the Government failing to defend us.
The number of ships in the Royal Navy has fallen so far as a result of austerity that the Government was able to send just one frigate to the Straits Of Hormuz to defend the stream of British-flagged oil tankers passing that way– and lo-and-behold,
