Wy countryside
Waen Gyrach, before descending to Henryd and back to Conwy.
The C walk was led by Val Hennessey who covered approximately seven miles, walking from the car park then steadily climbing to the woodlands.
Following this, she led her group south across fields on the way to Groesffordd and Lechwedd, then headed north onto the hill to the Sychnant Pass.
Taking the lower paths along the length of Conwy
Mountain the group then returned to Conwy.
Led by Jodie Coulthurst, the shortest D walk was a straightforward, flat five miles.
The walk was all along the coast with no hills and avoided the muddy fields.
The walk progressed around the Conwy Marina, an interesting sight and the only ‘5 Gold Anchor’ marina in North Wales.
They then walked along Morfa beach circling the golf course and returned to Conwy centre via a similar route.
Here the winds were quite severe, but the group completed the walk safely.
On a bright but blustery winter’s day there was plenty of interest on all the routes.
On their return, many of the walkers participated in the Christmas meal at The Manor Restaurant organised by Halton Ramblers, which had a great atmosphere after the day’s activities. On the return journey there was a lighthearted quiz on the bus.
The next coach walk is the trip to Haworth on December 22, followed on January 5 by a trip to Loggerheads, the first trip of the 2020 programme.
