Firm’s 65ft phone mast bid

-

A COMMUNICATIONS firm has applied to install a 65ft phone mast in Runcorn.

CK Hutchison Networks (UK) Ltd has filed plans to erect the “monopole” and base on land between Iveagh Close and Palacefields Avenue in Palacefields.

The application said the mast would stand about 20-metres tall, which is equivalent to about 65ft 7ins.

The firm appears to be a subsidiary of mobile phone provider Three, owned by CK Hutchison Holdings.

Public consultation will run until August 26, with Halton Borough Council aiming to decide the matter by around September 24.

The plans show the proposed location to be next to the entry to Iveagh Close, featuring cabinets, paving slabs and the monopole.

The firm has asked the council to confirm whether “prior approval” is needed to go ahead with the plans, citing “permitted development” rules.
