Details on homes plan at industrial sites

-

MORE detailed plans have been filed to build houses at the former Tarmac and Stobart sites on Foundry Lane in Widnes.

The project received outline permission in March, and the updated plans seek approval for specific aspects of the project, namely appearance, landscaping, layout and scale.

The Business Desk reported the proposed development was worth £50m.

A planning statement submitted with the application said the proposed homes would be built with red brick, create a “high quality” neighbourhood, and have tree-lined features.

It said the plans have been developed in partnership with Halton Borough Council.

Once completed, the homes would be managed by Torus housing association.

Most of the properties will be two storeys high, while the flats will be contained in two blocks four storeys high.

Public consultation is open until August 26, with Halton Council aiming to decide the matter by around October 20.

The plans can be viewed online at the local authority’s planning portal and are part of a wider project to regenerate the Golden Triangle industrial estate as housing.
