Trio ask for phone then flee in park

POLICE are probing an attempted robbery reported in Runcorn.

Cheshire Constabulary said officers were called to the Town Park near Castlefields Avenue South at 10.13am on

Wednesday, September 1.

It was reported that three men had approached their intended victim and asked for his phone and then fled.

Enquiries are ongoing. No further details have been released.

A Cheshire police spokeswoman said: “At 10.13am on Wednesday, September 1, police were called to reports of an attempted robbery on Town Park, Castlefields Avenue South in Runcorn.

“A man was approached by three other men who asked for his phone before running away.

“Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cheshire Constabulary on 101 quoting IML 1074602.” Town Park is in Runcorn, Cheshire.
