Thompson and Riley in to bolster squad

-

RUNCORN Town have made a couple of new additions to the squad. David Thompson made his debut against Irlam recently. The 30 year old left back started his senior career at Bury in 2009, before being sidelined for a few months with injuries. He then moved on to Hyde before signing for Warrington Town in 2010.

In 2014 David moved over to the Welsh Premier League with Rhyl - where he played alongside Paul McManus - then signed for Bala Town. Since the beginning of the Covid-19 pandemic the Welsh sides in particular weren’t able to play many games and after a break David is keen to nail down a starting place at Town.

Also joining is Jack Riley, a no-nonsense centre back who made a good impression during the 45 minutes against Vauxhall.

The 24-year-old joins from Litherland REMYCA.
