NO CLARITY ON RETURN OF THE PENSIONS TRIPLE LOCK
THE British state pension isn’t the best in the world by a long way, Greece, Germany and many others being much better off.
Now the triple lock, which made a poor pension better, is being frozen for a year to help pay for social care and the NHS.
I agree that the care system needed reforming and the NHS being protected. But to hit a pension that isn’t great anyway shouldn’t be one of the targets.
This decision wasn’t mentioned in Johnson’s speech, why? So will the triple lock return after a year, or will they go on and decide to get rid of it for good? If they do pensioners will end up way behind everyone else.
