Digger fire is visible for miles
THICK black smoke was seen billowing above Runcorn from a blaze involving a digger.
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) said one appliance from Runcorn and one from Widnes were called to Barlow Way in Weston Point at 3.01pm on Thursday, September 16.
A CFRS spokesperson said crews found a digger “well alight” at an industrial premises.
One firefighter donned breathing apparatus while hose reel jets were used to douse the Crews then damped down the area.
They were at the scene for around an hour.
