DOES £86,000 CARE FUND CAP REPRESENT A GOOD DEAL?

-

THERE will now be a cap of £86,000 people will have to pay for care.

For many the cap is irrelevant because it would take a while to kick in and many will not reach the cap.

Apparently the house doesn’t need to be sold at the time but would have to be later to cover the £86,000.

The cap I understand doesn’t cover food and some other things, which fees do at present. So the cost of food etc will be additional to the £86,000.

So the total amount to pay for care will be much higher. So after spending £86,000 we will still possibly be paying over £1,000 a month for food etc in the care home. Is it a good deal?
