Terrifying footage of moment van crashes into car

- BY MARTIN CUTLER

TERRIFYING dashcam footage captured the moment a van driver ploughed into the back of a car on the motorway near Runcorn.

The incident, which happened on the M56 heading eastbound near junction 11, saw three cars involved in a collision on the busy motorway.

HGV driver Ricky Lemaux caught the drama unfold on his dashcam as the driver of a silver Citroen van came into view in lane 3.

Smoke was pouring from the wheels of the van as the driver slammed on his brakes.

By this point, however, it was too late and the van continued on to collide with a red and black Renault that was travelling at a slower speed, apparently due to congestion building ahead.

Both vehicles appeared to be damaged in the collision, and the force of the impact caused the driver of the Renault to swerve into a silver Volkswagen Passat.

Cheshire Police said there were no reports of any injuries and no arrests had been made in relation to the crash.

Ricky, 26 and from Kent, posted the clip of the collision online later that evening after reviewing his dashcam footage.

The clip has since been viewed over 8,000 times and attracted over 100 comments, reactions and shares on social media.
