Backroom staff follow McManus

-

FOLLOWING the announcement of Paul McManus’ departure from Runcorn Town by mutual consent, the club confirmed several other members of staff were to leave.

A statement on the club’s official website read: “After discussions with the existing coaching staff, Assistant Manager Danny Jarrett, Coach Mark Reed and Goalkeeper Coach Paul Singer will all be leaving the club.

“Danny and Mark have been with the club as players before joining the management team, making 142 appearances between them. Paul has also played a key role as Goalkeeper Coach during the last couple of years.

“We would like to place on record our thanks to all three for the vital work they have all done at the club during their time with us, and wish them the best of luck in their next roles.

“Senior Players John Shaw and Adam Reid have agreed to take charge of the team as an interim management team until the club can make a permanent appointment. That will be starting with Saturday’s game home against Charnock Richard. At this time, the club will be inviting applications for the

First Team Manager position.

“We are ideally seeking a candidate who has previous experience of managing at NWCFL level or equivalent. The candidate should have the skills, drive and determination to mount a significant challenge in the 2021/22 season and beyond.

“The candidate will be responsible for all First Team matters including squad recruitment/selection and leading training sessions. The role will involve working with the Development Team manager to provide player progression within the club.”
