Under 16s pull clear of rivals Nottingham

THE Wild Academy Under 16 team beat Nottingham Under 16s 5-2 at Planet Ice Widnes on Saturday.

Liam Yarwood opened the scoring for Widnes after just 25 seconds of the game and the score remained 1-0 at the first period break.

Nottingham equalised early in the second period but a second goal for Yarwood restored the advantage and then two more quick goals – within 62 seconds of each other - from Cody

Ogden and Jaxon Kirk-Jones – handed Widnes a 4-1 lead.

Nottingham scored again early in the third period but a strike from Jared Knowles rounded off the scoring for the game and the Wild youngsters were able to celebrate a well-deserved 5-2 victory.

The Wild Academy U14s are at home to Coventry U14s on Saturday 29th January at Planet Ice Widnes - 3.20pm face off – while the U12s are away at Leeds the same day - 4.20pm start.
