Driver to be quizzed over hit-and-run
A 37-YEAR-OLD man is to be interviewed under caution after an alleged hit-and-run collision in Runcorn.
Emergency services were called to Halton Brow at 6pm on Monday, January 31, following reports a vehicle had failed to stop after an impact.
Cheshire police said the collision involved a grey Nissan Almera and a silver car, which left the scene and headed towards Boston Avenue.
A force spokesman said a man has since come forward and spoken to officers.
He said: “There were no reports of any serious injuries, but the driver of the Nissan was taken to hospital as a precautionary measure.
“A 37-year-old local man has since spoken to officers in relation to the incident and he will be interviewed under caution at a later date.”
Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service said two appliances from Runcorn and Widnes attended the scene and the crews removed the car door to extract the casualty, who had suffered “a leg injury”.
Writing on social media, the patient’s daughter has asked for witnesses to come forward.
She wrote: “My mum was in a car crash yesterday on The Brow, which resulted in her having [to] be cut out of her car and be in a neck brace and on a spinal board!
“Just asking if anyone was travelling on The Brow at about 18:00 yesterday and if they [have] seen anything.
“Any information at all would be much appreciated thank you.”
