Woman treated after kitchen blaze at home

A WOMAN was treated for choking on smoke after a kitchen blaze in Widnes.

Firefighte­rs were called to Cunningham Road at 11.54am on Monday, January 31.

A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokespers­on said crews found the fire involved the kitchen. Three appliances – two from Runcorn and one from Penketh – attended.

The spokespers­on said: “Four firefighte­rs wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.

“All occupants of the house were accounted for.

“One woman suffering from smoke inhalation was checked over by paramedics.

“Firefighte­rs checked neighbouri­ng properties for fire spread and ventilated the property.

“The electricit­y and gas supply to the property was isolated while the crews damped down the scene.”
