Woman treated after kitchen blaze at home
A WOMAN was treated for choking on smoke after a kitchen blaze in Widnes.
Firefighters were called to Cunningham Road at 11.54am on Monday, January 31.
A Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said crews found the fire involved the kitchen. Three appliances – two from Runcorn and one from Penketh – attended.
The spokesperson said: “Four firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used a hose reel jet to extinguish the flames.
“All occupants of the house were accounted for.
“One woman suffering from smoke inhalation was checked over by paramedics.
“Firefighters checked neighbouring properties for fire spread and ventilated the property.
“The electricity and gas supply to the property was isolated while the crews damped down the scene.”
