Under 12s celebrate third victory

THE Wild Academy Under 18 team lost out 4-1 away to second place Sutton U18s on Sunday.

Sutton took the lead on 11 minutes and led 2-0 before Adam Case scored the only Widnes goal of the game on 18 minutes.

Two more goals for the home side in the second period rounded off the scoring for the game and the Academy U18s now have two weeks to regroup before they play the same opposition, also away, in Sheffield on 20th February.

The Wild Academy Under 12 team picked up their third win of the season with a comprehens­ive 9-1 victory over Blackburn U12s at Planet Ice Widnes on Saturday.

The Widnes youngsters dominated the game throughout and outshot the visitors by 50 to 8 over the course of the game.

Evan Walker opened the scoring for Widnes in the 5th minute but Blackburn equalised 4 minutes later.

Two goals within 30 seconds of each other from Ben Roberts and Herbie Rolt then gave the Wild a 3-1 lead at the first period break.

A goal from Caleb Eddlestone just 33 seconds from the restart extended the Widnes lead and further strikes from Max Goodey (2), Jacob Foster, and a second for both Roberts and Eddleston saw the Academy youngsters cruise to an easy victory.

The Wild Academy Under 14s are away to Kingston (Hull) this Saturday 12th February - 12.30pm (noon) face off.

The Under 16 team are away to Blackburn on Sunday 13th February, 4.45pm face off.
