Superstar Bryan books into DCBL for July concert

-

CANADIAN music superstar Bryan Adams is once again scheduled to bring his open-air show to Widnes this summer as a new date was fixed to replace last year’s show cancelled by the pandemic.

Following in the footsteps of piano pop royalty Elton John, multi-platinum-selling artist Bryan will be at the DCBL Stadium on Saturday, July 2.

With a career spanning four decades, Bryan has recorded 14 studio albums with his 15th, So Happy It Hurts, due for release on March 11, featuring the title track, alongside songs On The Road, Kick Ass and Never Gonna Rain.

Along the way Bryan has collected three Academy Award nominations, five Golden Globe nominations and a Grammy Award for hits that include (Everything I Do), I Do It for You, Heaven and Summer of ‘69.

Among his 27 top-40 singles was (Everything I Do) I Do it For You from the score to the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, which held the number one spot in the UK for 16 weeks.

His albums have sold more than 65m copies worldwide.

Organisers said the artist is ready to put on a show this summer and is making up for lost time, touring not one but two new albums since the tour was released.

Fans are advised to expect all of the classics, fan favourites and “incredible new material”.

Cllr Paul Nolan (community and culture) said: “Many locals will remember what a brilliant atmosphere the Elton John concert was at the home of the Widnes Vikings.

“And they won’t want to miss out on that experience when Bryan Adams comes to town.”
