Warriors muck in to support vital work of hospice

-

A GROUP of intrepid “warriors” will be wading through thick mud and woodland as they take on the 10k Wolf Run in aid of Halton Haven later this year.

The 11-strong team so far consists of hospice and NHS staff but an invitation has been extended to the public for anyone who thinks they have what it takes and fancies a challenge.

The Halton Haven Warriors fundraising group was launched several years ago by its founder Simon Li and has taken on annual events renowned for their difficulty including Tough Mudder, Hell Runner and Rat Race.

Wolf Run is due to take place on Sunday, September 4, in Warwickshire.

Halton Haven said anyone who likes the sound of charging through twisting woodland trails and wading through mud and water can consider joining the team.

Tina Gill, Halton Haven Hospice community fundraiser, said: “The community of Halton have been amazing throughout the pandemic supporting the Haven.

“As we look forward to getting back out to events, the time has come to call on those who love to get stuck in with a challenge event be it climbing, muddy or pushing you to your absolute limit and supporting an incredible end of life service in your local community.

“We know there are so many who love a challenge like this here in Halton.

“Come forward and join the Halton Haven Warriors.”

Halton Haven Hospice is based on Barnfield Avenue in Runcorn.

Anyone interested in taking on this year’s Wolf Run challenge and joining the hospice team should email fundraising@ haltonhaven.co.uk or call 01928 712 728.
