Homes available to reserve

-

HOMEBUILDER Redrow has announced that properties at its Daresbury Garden Village development on the outskirts of east Runcorn are now available to reserve off-plan.

The firm said the first of the three, four and five-bedroom houses have been ordered by buyers who will be able to move in towards the end of the year.

Redrow’s first phase off Delph Lane at Daresbury Garden Village has been named Gleaves View, a reference to the Grade II listed George Gleaves Bridge over the Bridgewater Canal nearby.

A spokeswoman for the company said the Lifestyle range properties are from the firm’s Heritage Collection, which draws its inspiration from the Arts and Crafts movement over the late-19th to early 20th century.

She said the Lifestyle houses have fewer but bigger “more luxurious bedrooms” with their own bathrooms.

A three-bed property starts at £407,995 and has the same ground floor space as a four-bed, with the price range extending to around £620,000 for a four-bed.

Halton Borough Council is due to receive £8.5m in Section 106 payments from the development, which have been earmarked to pay for the following infrastructure works:

● Converting the narrow section of the A558 to a dual carriageway.

● Affordable housing elsewhere in Halton.

● Supporting bus routes and creating a bus link into Daresbury Park business park.

● Improvements to Runcorn East railway station.

● Landscaping and linear park creation in the wider area, including their maintenance, plus “improvements” to Daresbury Firs woods.

● Creation of a pedestrian link under the West Coast Mainline and walking and cycling route connections to the site. ● Contribution to the Bridgewater Way Initiative and funding towards alternative marina locations along the canal.

Redrow has planning permission for around 800 homes on 120 acres of land at Daresbury Garden Village, in addition to a local centre with shops.

The initial phase Gleaves View will have 260 houses.

Motorists in the area will have noticed promotional banners appearing on fences near the development site in recent weeks.

Redrow said interest is “high”. Anna Evans-Kerr, head of sales for Redrow North West, said: “Although we don’t have a sales presence on site right now, we have had so much interest in the Daresbury Garden Village homes that we have now launched sales remotely.”
