Cops’ cannabis farm discovery during raid
ACANNABIS farm containing more than 100 plants has been discovered in Widnes.
Police announced the find on social media.
Cheshire Constabulary said the cannabis farm was discovered on Mount Street at 9.40am on Monday. No arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
The social media post was accompanied by several photographs. One image shows large transparent evidence bags full of plants resembling the Class B drug next to a police van. There are also two pictures of the grow set-up itself, with reflective surfaces on the walls along with cables and crammed plug sockets.
Widnes police tweeted: “Cannabis farm discovered in the Appleton area of Widnes. Over 100 plants recovered. Investigation on going. #neighbourhood #hereforcommunities.”
A Cheshire Constabulary spokeswoman said: “Officers were called just before 9.40am on Monday 14 March to Mount Street, Widnes following reports of a cannabis farm. A quantity of plants were discovered. No arrests have been made at this time and enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing.”
