TORIES’ EXCUSES OVER DIRTY MONEY

-

THE Government is doing some of the right things over the atrocious Russian attack on Ukraine, but after years of cosying up to Russian oligarchs based in London, it is acting too slowly.

As usual, the grandstanding speeches made by Boris Johnson bear no relation to reality (just as we saw when he announced that people, except himself and his advisers obviously, couldn’t hold parties during Covid).

While France and Germany have both impounded superyachts owned by billionaire associates of Vladimir Putin, Britain is giving these people 18 months to sell their assets and transfer the money out of our reach.

The Government’s excuse is that the Russian oligarchs have expensive lawyers, but that hasn’t stopped other countries taking action.

During 12 years of Tory rule, our capital city has become known as “Londonograd.
