WIDNES BOWLING CLUB CUP SEMI FINALS WIDNES BOWLING CLUB B V SIMM’S CROSS INST. A

THE Stute A were first on the scoreboard with a win from Brian Dutton. Kev Garcia (17 darts) evened things up before Glen Owen regained the lead for the Stute. Three pairs wins from Kev Garcia & John Bowles, Brad Flemming & Terry Roach and Robbie Gorst & Joe Price put the final in sight for the Bowler. Ray Dutton (17 darts) closed the gap to one but wins from Brad Flemming (18 darts) and Terry Roach (19 darts) ensured a final spot for the Bowler.

SIMM’S CROSS INST. B V MILL BROW SC

THE Mill Brow were a class apart as the dismantled the Stute B without dropping a leg. Mike Callaghan, Kieran Stringer and Craig Winstanley (19 darts) won the opening singles. Peter Fisher & Tom Callaghan, Brian Spruce & Craig Winstanley and Paul Linger & Dave Powell took the pairs. The final singles were won by Dave Powell, Peter Fisher (180) and Clive Rule to set up a final against rivals the Bowling Club B.

WIDNES BOWLING CLUB B V MILL BROW SC

THE final of the Widnes Bowling Club Cup was a shoot out between the top two in the Widnes & District Darts League. First blood went to Kev Garcia (17 darts) for the Bowler before Craig Winstanley (19 darts) levelled things up. Terry Roach (17 darts) put the Bowler one up which became two when he partnered Brad Flemming in the first of the pairs. Dave Powell & Brian Spruce (180) got one back for the Brow before Kev Garcia & John Bowles put the Bowling Club one away from victory. This was achieved when John Bowles took the next (12 darts & 126 finish). The last two were shared, Brad Flemming for the winners before Peter Fisher claimed the last for the Brow.

BALL A V MILLFIELD

THE Milly hit the ground running, Tony Jackson (180) and Ian Wall (19 darts) gave them a 2-0 lead. James Holden got the Ball back into the match but the two game lead was restored through Ian Wall & Tony Jackson (19 darts). Karl Whitfield & Karl Windisch and Ged Kilburn & Lol Fonterigo got the Ball on level terms. Adam Mellor put the Milly back in front only for Ged Kilburn to take it down to a last leg decider. Nathan Sivills had the answers as the Ball A reached the final.

PINCERS

IN a one sided affair, the Bowler A eased past their rivals to reach the final. Mathew Drury, Rob Magee and Alex McGill won the opening singles. Joe Batty & Scott Grady, Dave Gerrard & Chris Drury and Mathew Drury and Rob Magee swept the pairs. Paul Murty got a consolatio­n leg for the Hammer but wins from Scott Grady and Joe Batty ensured a comfortabl­e win for the Bowler.

BALL A V WIDNES BOWLING CLUB A

THE final of the Mill Brow SC Cup was between the Ball A and the Widnes Bowling Club A. Mathew Drury was on target for the Bowler but the scores were soon tied as Karl Windisch levelled for the Ball. Joe Batty regained the lead only for Karl Whitfield & Karl Windisch to level the scores once again. Rob Magee & Mathew Drury and Scott Grady & Joe Batty put the Bowler on the brink of the trophy. It wasn’t long in coming as Rob Magee took the next to take the trophy back to the Bowler. MILL BROW SC RTB LEAGUE ROUND 12 WIDNES BOWLING CLUB A V MILL BROW SC

THE Brow got off to a good start with Mark Harrison taking the first leg. Ray O’Connor levelled things up before the visitors took control and rattled off the next six legs. Ray Linger won the last of the singles before Daniel Glynn & Kev Helps, Paul Woodwood & Paul Linger (16 darts) and Ray Linger & Brian Spruce swept the pairs. Paul Linger and Kev Helps won the next two singles before the Bowler’s Joe Batty won the last but not the points. CRICKETER’S ARMS V SIMM’S CROSS INST.

THE opening leg was won by Graham Fenney for the hosts but this was their only leg as the Stute won the remaining games for an easy victory. Mick Cullen and Dave Evans started things off and Glen Owen & Dave Batty, Dave Evans & Brian Dutton and Ray Dutton & Tony Green won the pairs. The last three singles were won by Brian Dutton, Glen Owen (13 darts) and Tony Green (17 darts) to keep tabs on the leading duo. MILLFIELD V WIDNES RUFC

KEITH Glover put the away side in front before Tony Jackson, Joe Kelly (17 darts) and Mike Howard & Alan Sutton replied for the Milly. The Wids then took three of their own through Keith Glover & Mick Davies, Dan Newall & Cody Davies and Ian Argent to put them one up with two to play. Ian Wall took the next to level the match before team mate Adam Mellor won the last to take the points.

WIDNES CC V BALL A

THE home team struck first with a win from Ian Sharples but they were quickly one down after wins from Nathan Sivills and Martin Ball. Carl Bryan & Phil Slavin (18 darts) and Jonny Leather & Dave Herley restored the Cricket Club’s lead only to see the Ball go back in front with wins from Karl Whitfield & Nathan Sivills and Barry Highfield. Carl Bryan levelled to make it to make it four across and Phil Slavin held it together to secure the win for the CC. BALL B V WIDNES BOWLING CLUB B

THE Bowler won the first four legs through Tom Callaghan, Mike Callaghan, Shane Littler and the opening pair of Danny Magee & Joe Price. To their credit the Ball hit back through Ben Hogan & Jamie Downham and Darren Attwood & James Tyghe (16 darts). The points were secured in the next for the away team with a win from Danny Magee. Joe Price for the visitors and Ben Hogan for the Ball won the remaining two legs.
