WIDNES BOWLING CLUB 501 LEAGUE JACK WILCOX SHIELD BOARD 1 WBC AB V MILL BROW C (PRELIM)

KEV Helps won the first leg for the Brow only for Mathew Drury (19 darts) to even things up. Paul Linger took the last for the Brow C team for a 2-1 win.

ROUND 1 BALL B V MILL BROW B

THE Ball took the first leg with a win from Martin Ball. Clive Rule (129 finish) levelled the tie but the Ball went through with a win from Nathan Sivills in the decider.

BALL A V MILL BROW C

THE Ball A progressed to the board final by winning the first two games. Karl Windisch (19 darts) and Mark Delooze were on target for the Ball. Brian Spruce won the last for the Brow but not the match.

QUARTER FINAL BALL B V BALL A

THE Ball B went one up with a win from Martin Ball. Mark Delooze levelled things up and it was left to team mate Karl Windisch (17 darts) to put the A team through to the semi finals.

BOARD 2 ROUND 1 WBC AA V WBC BC

THE Bowler B progressed to the quarter finals with a 3-0 victory. Wins from Terry Roach (17 darts), Robbie Gorst and Brad Flemming put them through.

HAMMER C V SXI AA

THE Stute eased past their rivals with a straight forward 3-0 win. Ray and Brian Dutton putting them through before Glen Owen won the last.

QUARTER FINAL WBC BC V SXI AA

BRAD Flemming put the Bowler one up and a win in the next from Terry Roach (17 darts) ensured the Bowler a place in the semi finals. Brian Dutton won the last for the Stute but the WBC BC join the Ball A in moving forward to finals night.

MILL BROW SC RTB LEAGUE ROUND 13 BALL A V MILLFIELD

THE Millfield were in fine form as they quickly raced into a four leg lead. Mike Howard, Alan Sutton and Ben Hewitt (19 darts) swept the singles followed by Mike Howard & Adam Mellor (14 darts) in the opening pairs. Martin Ball & Nathan Sivills got the home side on the score sheet but their fate was sealed when Ian Wall & Tony Jackson won the next for the Milly. Jamie Donegan added to the lead before Peter Jerram got one back for the Ball. Adam Mellor completed the victory for the away side.

WIDNES RUFC V CRICKETER’S ARMS

TONY Langford and Graham Fenney put the Cricketer’s Arms on top before Dan Newall struck for the Wids. The game was quickly up for the home team as Leggies swept the pairs. Dave Gerrard & Graham Fenney, Tony Langford & Brian Mercer and Peter Mason & Brian Dwyer securing the points for the visitors. Keith Glover took the next for the home team before Kevin Langford replied for Leggies. Phil Corless won the last for the Wids but not the match.

SIMM’S CROSS INST. AT HOME TO WIDNES BOWLING CLUB A

THE Stute were in fine form as the swept the opening singles. Barry Lightfoot, Dave Evans and Brian Dutton (14 darts) before Scott Grady & Joe Batty replied for the Bowler. Peter Phillips & Tony Green added to the lead before Ray O’Connor & Alex McGill reduced the arrears to two. This was to be their last as the home team rattled off the last three singles with wins from Ray Dutton, Tony Green and Glen Owen.

MILL BROW SC AT BALL B

THE Brow started well with legs from Jeff Thompson (15 darts) and Kev Helps. The Ball won the next through Ben Hogan but this was their only success as the home team won the remaining six games. Daniel Glynn & Kev Helps, Paul Woodwood & Paul Linger and Jeff Thompson & Brian Spruce won the pairs. Paul Linger, Brian Spruce and Daniel Glynn completed an easy victory for the home team.

WIDNES BOWLING CLUB B AT HOME TO WIDNES CC

IN a game that went to and fro for much of it, the away team struck the first blow with a leg from Trevor Chadwick. John Bowles (17 darts) replied for the home team who were again one down after a win from Phil Slavin. John Bowles & Alan Magee levelled things up but were again one behind after a win from Dave Herley & Jonny Leather. A 12 dart leg from Kev Garcia & Terry Roach and a 16 darter from Alan Magee put the Bowler in front for the first time. Dave Herley tied the match at four across only for Kev Garcia to take the last and the points for the home side.
