WIDNES BOWLING CLUB 501 LEAGUE MILL BROW SC 501 PAIRS PRELIMS

PAUL Batty & Glen Owen progressed to round one with a 2-1 win.

Joe Batty & Scott Grady eased past their opponents with a 2-0 victory.

Jonny Leather & Kev Garcia (18 darts) went through by the same score.

Karl Whitfield & Anthony Hall (16 darts) edged a close one by 2-1.

ROUND 1

PAUL Batty & Glen Owen (18 darts & Glen Owen 110 finish) moved into the quarter finals with a 2-1 win.

Jonny Leather & Kev Garcia (18 darts & Kev Garcia 180) edged Karl Whitfield & Anthony Hall (17 darts) by two legs to one.

Eric Peel & Tony Green took the match in straight legs.

Chris Taylor & Gaz Bason progressed by the same score line.

Ray & Brian Dutton were 2-0 winners.

Kev Helps & Brian Spruce also won in straight legs.

Dave Powell & Paul Linger edged a close one by 2-1

Tom Callaghan & Peter Fisher were straight leg winners.

QUARTER FINALS

JONNY Leather & Kev Garcia progressed through to the semi finals with a hard fought 2-1 win.

Chris Taylor & Gaz Bason reached the last four with a 2-0 victory.

Kev Helps & Brian

Spruce won a last leg decider to reach the semi finals.

Tom Callaghan & Peter Fisher completed the line up with a 2-0 win.

MILL BROW SC RTB LEAGUE ROUND 14 MILL BROW SC V SIMM’S CROSS INST.

THE Brow struck first with a point from Paul Linger. Brian Dutton (13 darts) levelled things up only to see Kev Helps reclaim the lead for the home team. Dave & Paul Batty and Andy Abbott & Glen Owen put the Stute in front for the first time but it was all square again after Kev Helps & Jeff Thompson won the final pairs. Glen Owen and Paul Batty clinched the win for the Stute with the final leg being won by Brian Spruce for the Brow but not the match.

WIDNES BOWLING CLUB A VWIDNES RUFC

ROB Magee put the Bowler in the lead but wins from Paul Woods and Duane Lawton gave the away team the upper hand going into the pairs. Joe Batty & Rob Magee levelled the tie but the Wids were back in front with a leg from Phil Corless & Duane Lawton. Ray O’Connor & Mark Smith evened things up and the Bowler took the points as they won the last three singles games through Ray O’Connor, Mark Smith (19 darts) and Joe Batty.

CRICKETER’S ARMS VBALL A

THE Cricketer’s Arms took the first leg with a win from Dave Gerrard. Peter Kneale and Karl Whitfield (14 darts) put the away team in front after the opening singles.

Brian Dwyer & Brian Mercer levelled the match before Anthony Hall & Karl Whitfield put the Ball A back in front. However, this was to be the away team’s last leg as Leggies took the remaining four legs. Wins from Dave Palmer &

Peter Mason in the pairs, was followed by Paul Mason, Karl Abbott and Kevin Langford in the final singles securing the points for the home team.

MILLFIELD VWIDNES BOWLING CLUB B

THE Milly were quickly out of the blocks against the league leaders. Alan Sutton and Tony Jackson (18 darts) put the home team in a good position. John Bowles (14 darts) and with partner Alan Magee levelled things up in the next. Mike Callaghan & Joe Price put the

Bowler B in front for the first time only to see the Millfield win the remaining legs and join the Bowler at the head of the table. Joe Kelly & Adam Mellor winning the final pairs before Joe Kelly (16 darts), Mike Howard and Ben Hewitt completed the victory for the home team.

WIDNES CC take the win and the points as the home team could not field a side.
