Drugs are found at home by police during search for firearms
POLICE made three arrests during a firearms warrant in Runcorn.
A Cheshire Constabulary spokesman said officers found no guns during the raid on Caesars Close in Castlefields on Saturday, but did find a “quantity of illegal drugs”.
A 26-year-old man and two women, aged 18 and 47, were arrested on suspicion of cocaine supply and firearm possession.
The man was released on bail and the women are under investigation.
A large police presence including armed units and crime scene investigators descended on the cul-desac early on Saturday, with officers remaining throughout the day according to residents writing online.
The force spokesman said: “At around 5.30am on Saturday, April 23, officers from Cheshire Police executed a firearms warrant at an address on Caesars Close, Runcorn.
“No firearms were found at the address however officers recovered a quantity of illegal drugs.
“A 26-year old man and two women, aged 18 and 47, were arrested at the address on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (cocaine) and possession of a firearm without a certificate.
“The man has since been released on police bail until Sunday, May 22, the two women have been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”
