Faces of men issued after ‘touching’ of girl on bus

POLICE investigat­ing an incident in which a teenage girl was “inappropri­ately touched” on a bus have released a CCTV still of two men they want to speak to.

Cheshire Constabula­ry said the incident happened at around 5pm on Monday, February 28.

A force spokesman said a girl of 17 was travelling on the No 2 bus from Chester to Runcorn when two unknown men inappropri­ately touched her.

He said the incident is believed to be isolated and efforts are ongoing to trace the people responsibl­e.

As part of their investigat­ion officers have released a CCTV image of two men they believe could help with their enquiries.

Pimlott, of Runcorn Local Policing Unit, said: “I would like to reassure residents that this is believed to be an isolated incident and we are doing all we can to trace the people responsibl­e. As part of our investigat­ion I am keen to speak to the two men in the CCTV image who may have vital informatio­n that could assist us with our enquiries.

“I would ask anyone who may know the identity of the men, or have any further informatio­n that could help with the investigat­ion, to please get in touch with us. I would also want to encourage the men in the image to call us directly.”
