Ladies eyeing strong finish to season

Bristol Huskies to Planet Ice Widnes, 4.15pm face off. The unbeaten Huskies are the runaway leaders in the Women’s Premier League this season with 12 wins and one draw from their 13 games to date.

They were formed when the Swindon Top Cats relocated to the new Planet Ice rink in Bristol last summer and they have a number of players with Elite League experience, so it will be a tough test on Sunday for the Wild women – who have a large number of young and inexperien­ced players on their roster who are in their first season of league competitio­n.

However, the Widnes team have already accrued three more points than they achieved the last time they were in the

WPL so anything that happens now is a bonus.
