Smoke inhalation treatment after fire

A HOUSEHOLDE­R was treated for smoke inhalation after a kitchen blaze involving a pan of food in Widnes.

Firefighte­rs were called to Balmoral Road at 9.26pm on Tuesday, April 19.

A pan of food on a hob was alight.

Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service (CFRS) said three appliances from Runcorn, Widnes and Penketh attended.

Crews extinguish­ed the flames and used a large fan to clear smoke.

A CFRS spokespers­on said: “The occupant was treated for smoke inhalation by firefighte­rs before being handed into the care of paramedics.” The North West Ambulance Service said the patient was taken to hospital.
