HALTON Haven has invited residents to celebrate The Queen’s platinum jubilee in the hospice grounds with its very own “street party”.

Entertainment on the day includes a 1930s-40s singalong, face painting from Glitter by Jess and a craft workshop with Camp Curiosity.

Residents are invited to bring their own lunch or add a picnic box option to their ticket featuring locallysourced sausage rolls, freshly-made sandwiches and treats in addition to vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free alternatives on request.

Included with the £5 ticket price and as part of the Queen’s Green Canopy project, the hospice will also be offering wildflower seed bombs to plant within their woodland on the day.

The event is to take place from noon-3pm on Sunday, June 5, and marks the start of the hospice’s Forget Me Not Month fundraising campaign.

Elle Smith, Halton Haven Hospice community fundraiser, said: “We cannot wait to celebrate the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee with our community on June 5.

“We have some lovely activities planned for our Street Party and we hope that local friends, family and neighbours will come and join us, to eat, drink - and sing throughout the afternoon, to mark this once-in-a-lifetime celebration.”

Halton Haven is situated on Barnfield Avenue in Runcorn. Call 01928 712 728 for more information.
