WIDNES BOWLING CLUB 501 LEAGUE TOMMY MAGEE CUP SEMI FINALS SIMM’S CROSS INST. A V WIDNES BOWLING CLUB B

THE Bowler were first on the scoreboard with a win from Phil Taylor but this was was soon cancelled out after a point from Dave Garner. Terry Roach regained the lead but again the Stute replied with Bri Dutton & Dave Garner taking the first of the pairs matchups.

Terry Roach & Alan Magee (18 darts & 103 finish) restored the lead but the Stute levelled again with a win from Glen Owen & Andy Abbott. The Bowler led for a fourth time with a win from Robbie Gorst (19 darts) and the match was won when Colin Rigby won the penultimat­e game. Alan Magee (180) took the last for the Bowler who were pushed all the way by an excellent Stute team.

MILL BROW SC V MILLFIELD

THE Brow took an early lead through Mike Callaghan (19 darts) and Peter Fisher. Gaz Bason halved the advantage going into the pairs but with a clean sweep of the pairs, the Mill Brow settled the outcome. The pairs combinatio­ns being Lee Price & Peter Fisher, Brian Spruce & Tom Callaghan and Dave Powell & Paul Linger. Tony Jackson hitting a maximum for the Milly in the final pairs game. Paul Linger made the score 6-1 to the Brow before the final two games were shared with Ronnie

Greylish adding to the Milly’s tally and Brian Spruce finishing things off for the Tommy Magee Cup finalists.

NOREEN MAGEE CUP SEMI FINALS SIMM’S CROSS INST. B V WIDNES BOWLING CLUB A

THE Bowler made an excellent start and with wins from Phil Corless, Alex McGill and Matt Drury they raced into a 3-0 lead. Chris & George Hough put the Stute on the scoreboard but the gap was again three when Matty Drury & Rob Magee (19 darts & 180) replied for the Bowler. Adam Jones & James Jeffers kept the game alive but with a clean sweep of the final singles the Bowler booked their place in the Noreen Magee Cup final, Joe Batty, Tex Bowles and Rob Magee the victors.

BALL V HOUGH GREEN SC

HOUGH Green went ahead with a win from Chris Ellis but the Ball replied through Anthony Hall. Russ Hardman restored the lead but again the Ball hit back and led for the first time with wins from Anthony Hall & Mark Tyrer and Karl Whitfield & Lol Fonterigo. Duane Lawton & Keith Glover made the match all square and Martin Ball put the Ball back in front. Keith Glover sent the match to a decider where Karl Whitfield (17 darts) came up with the goods to set up a match with the Bowler A.

MILL BROW SC RTB LEAGUE WIDNES BOWLING CLUB RTB INDIVIDUAL­S ROUND 1

THERE were 64 players in this season’s individual­s and round 1 kicked off with 2-0 wins for Ray Linger and Brian Spruce (15 darts). Brad Adams (13 darts) won through in the decider after his opponent Tom Wall had a 12 dart leg. Joe Bryan also won in the deciding game and Glen

Owen and Ian Wall both won in straight legs. Keith Horabin (19 darts) was taken to the decider and Adam Foster won without loss. Paul Linger was pushed all the way but he won in three legs and Tony Jackson, Paul Mason and Kurt Wyze advanced to round 2 with 2-0 victories. Ronnie Greylish won in the decider and Alex McGill, Adam Corby and Jack Kelly all won in two legs. Karl Abbott, Adam Mellor, Ray Dutton and Tex Bowles all won in the deciding leg and Bri Dutton (12 darts) and Cody Davies won 2-0. Barry Stanners won a last leg decider and Scott Grady won in straight legs. Duane Lawton won in the decider and Daniel Beddows, Karl Whitfield (18 & 16 darts) and Andy Davies won without reply. Marc Jones won in three legs and Jordan Davies (10 darts) and Dave Palmer both won by a 2-0 score line. Alan Magee completed round 1 with a last leg win resulting in 32 players advancing to the second round.

ROUND 2

BRIAN Spruce went through in straight legs and Joe Bryan needed the three to make round 3. Ian Wall won 2-0 and Keith

Horabin won in the deciding game. Tony Jackson, Paul Mason, Alex McGill and Jack Kelly (16 darts) had easier rides and they went through 2-0. Karl Abbott won in the deciding leg and Tex Bowles and Bri Dutton (14 & 15 darts) won without dropping a leg. Scott Grady was taken to the third leg and Duane Lawton (17 darts) won in two. Karl Whitfield, with Andy Davies (17 darts) in defeat, Marc Jones (10 darts) and Dave Palmer completed round 2 with 2-1 wins.

ROUND 3

THERE were 2-0 wins for Brian Spruce, Ian Wall, Tony Jackson (2 x 15 darts) and Alex McGill. Tex Bowles made the last eight with a win in the deciding leg. Scott Grady and Karl Whitfield progressed in straight legs and Marc Jones (18 darts) defeated Dave Palmer (16 darts) in the last leg.

QUARTER FINALS

IAN Wall took his place in the final four after a 2-0 win and he was joined by team mate Tony Jackson (10 darts) who won in the decider. Scott Grady and Karl Whitfield made up the semi final line up with both players going through 2-0.
