EAT AND RUN FOR STRONGER BONES

Runner's World (UK) - - Warm - Ups -

Impact injuries such as stress fractures are all too familiar to runners. While strength training can help build stronger bones, diet has the biggest impact, according to a study by the University of Michigan, US. Lazier runners will be chuffed to hear a calciumrich diet alone benefits bone strength, even without exercising. But before you throw away your running shoes and open a packet of cheese, it’s worth noting that the bone-strengthening effects are amplified when diet and exercise are combined.
