When you see Slieve Donard, Northern Ireland’s highest point, towering over Newcastle, you’ll be glad this 5K or 10K race only goes into the forested foothills of the beautiful Mourne Mountains. There’s still around 150m of ascent to deal with, though, and a mixture of road and trail along the way. Of course, if you have plenty of energy left, you can always have a go at Slieve Donard.
