Before the start of 2019, I couldn’t claim to be more than an occasional runner. I lacked motivation to run on my own (I still do). However, I have found my much-needed energy and desire to get off the sofa, thanks to having someone to support me and give me a push to get out there. Since January 2019, my partner and I have completed parkruns galore alongside some longer races. We don’t tend to stick together during a race, we aren’t attached by the hip, but pushing each other to get up on a Saturday morning for a run is more than enough to keep me going. My advice: get a running buddy.
